“Crystal helped me find a system that worked for me in a way that I could manage myself even during insanely busy and hectic weeks.”
— A.S, college student
College prep and support
I have enjoyed supporting students as they navigate their independence and balance essential
life components. Following an intake preview of learning style and preferences, the student
lets me know their specific goals and challenges:
Advocacy: How to talk to your professors and what you want them to know about you
Creating balance: What are the individual needs for down time, social time, sleep,
school work, jobs, food, exercise, etc.
Creating flexible calendars
Reflective time: Checking in with yourself-How are you doing physically, emotionally and
mentally?
Academic check in: At least a weekly check in with assignments and grades, teacher
check-ins
What’s ahead? What does the week ahead look like? What is due? Important Project
dates
Diagramming assignments: Get the big picture and the smaller details
Successful student tips
Preview classroom presentations
Process information soon after class
We typically start with an initial information gathering session and then determine if we are
going to meet weekly, twice monthly or monthly to support and monitor progress for the
semester on an as needed basis. These check-ins are done online
